General

The National Federation of Meat and Food Traders (NFMFT) is a trade association registered under the companies act in England and Wales. The NFMFT holds information including data in the public domain and that of a personal nature on behalf and about its members and employees.

Information held

The NFMFT will hold personal data legitimised by legal and contractual obligation, consent or in the legitimate interest of its members, employees and suppliers. The NFMFT makes every effort to ensure that data held is valid, accurate, sufficient, and appropriate for the purpose(s) intended for.

Personal Data

Personal data is information which can be used to identify individuals i.e. members, employees or suppliers by the NFMFT and may include name, address, telephone number and email address etc.

The data stored will be used for providing members with a subscription and membership service, NFMFT employees with legitimate employment and suppliers to facilitate contractual arrangements and will only be shared with legitimate partners and authorities and not with others for marketing or other purposes unless the member, employee or supplier knowingly consents to do so.

Security

Information is stored in an electronic database system and on the NFMFT website at www.nfmft.co.uk. Paper copies may also be stored securely and accessed by employees of the NFMFT.

In the event of a breach, unauthorised use, or loss of data the NFMFT undertakes to inform the appropriate authorities and the persons concerned within 72 hours of becoming aware of the breach.

Access

Members, employees and suppliers have the right to request a copy of the data the NFMFT holds to correct inaccuracies or be removed. Requests must be made to the Chief Executive at 1Belgrove, Tunbridge Wells Kent TN1 1YW and will be responded to within 40 days and may incur an administration charge of £10.00.
